Weather Simulator - Hands on Experiment for Kids to Create Wind Currents
Home > Science Activities > Weather For Kids > Weather Chamber Pictures The weather chamber pictures below show how this chamber is made. Basically it is box about 2 ft by 3 ft by 10" that has 1x2" strips on each side to allow a window or piece of plexiglass to slide up and down. I used an old storm window so I built mine with dimensions 33" by 26". If you don't have a storm window with finished edges, I would suggest plexiglass for your safety. I used nails and screws to fasten the boards together. On the bottom I used a solid board and the other boards were OSB pressed board. This entire unit cost virtually nothing since it was built with scraps laying around the shop. Click on each photo to enlarge in a new window.
