How To Get a Free Algebra Curriculum

Free Algebra Curriculum
When home schooling, the costs of buying
materials can be very difficult on the budget. Here is a way to save
some money on algebra books:
-
Go to a 2-yr or 4-yr college and visit
their math department. 2-yr colleges are perhaps your best bet since
they specialize in developmental courses that start at the 7th and 8th
grade pre-algebra level.
-
Ask several instructors if they have any
"desk copies" of algebra books they can give you. Instructors will be
given box loads of these books that they do not even request, and they
will gladly give them to any student or citizen for use in their own
education.
-
Also ask for books that come with
software and instructor's editions and manuals. Often, you can get
not only the text, but a student solutions manual, an instructors
edition, and supporting software. And it will not cost you anything!
Most traditional algebra books are nearly identical in content, so it
does not matter that much which publisher or author you end up with.
Just follow the course sequence: Pre-algebra, Introductory Algebra,
Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus I & II.
