What Happened Between 1450-1500

Africa

The technology in Africa is not very advanced compared to Europe’s, but along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the technology is pretty much the same as Europe’s because the Europeans considered the Africans because the natives had a primitive culture, no written language, a tribal society with no form a government, no state religion, and no steel or guns.

Australia

The Aborigines of Australia had no clothes, had no number system, no written language and little technology.

North America and South America

In North and South America, the Indians were having their regional tribal wars. Their technology consisted of sticks, rocks, and bows. They worshipped things in nature, such as animals, the sun, and the moon.

Asia

China had many riches that the Europeans wanted. The Silk Road was connection between China and Europe. Many traders traveled from Europe to Asia to trade for spices and silk. But the result of the Crusades was a very hostile Muslim nation. With the rise of Islam, the fall of the Byzantine empire in 1454, the Muslims closed the trade of silk and spices to all Europeans. This resulted in Columbus’s accidental discovery of the West Indies. One of the reasons Columbus sailed to America was because he knew that if he sailed west from Europe, he would find a water route to eastern Asia.

Europe

Europe from 1450-1500 was increasing in arts, guns, technologies, and sculptures. This period was known as the beginning of the Renaissance (1450-1600). Gutenburg invented the printing press om 1440 allowing much more knowledge to be put in print. During 1492, Spain was exiling all non-Catholics, including the Muslims. While they were doing this, Columbus was discovering the western hemisphere. The impact of Columbus discovery had on the modern world was huge and great. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the discovery of the Americas.
